What’s Growin’ On?
“What’s Growin’ On?” is an exciting educational project that helps students discover the ways agriculture impacts their daily lives. This year’s is theme, “Agriculture and the Environment “, will help students learn the importance of how and where their food and fiber are grown. This year’s edition shows the close connection between how food is grown, how farms are sustainable, and the role all of us have in taking care of the environment. Featured this year are citizen science and service learning projects for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom.
This 16-page supplement, sponsored by the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, is packed with articles and fun activities that are aligned to California Education Standards, allowing teachers to easily incorporate the newspaper into their classroom. The target is 3rd – 8th grade.
And, don’t forget to visit the State Capitol in on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 to celebrate California Agriculture Day!
