If you are in one of the areas outside of the sponsored program, you can still download the information, however you or your students cannot enroll in the contest based on the guidelines from the supporting sponsor.
Water Spots Video Contest (August – April)
Enrollment open to Sacramento NIE. Sponsored by the Regional Water Authority. Open to middle and high school students in the Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties, and the City of West Sacramento.
Special Literacy Supplement (September)
This annual 8-page special supplement on Literacy sponsored by Learning Quest – Stanislaus Literacy Centers, Literacy Network of Stanislaus County and The Modesto Bee’s NIE program, is published in the print and e-Edition of The Modesto Bee. The 2016 edition, Education is a journey to a job, was published on September 8, 2016 and can also be downloaded here.
The Great Create Sports Journalism Contest (October – December)
Enrollment open to Sacramento and Modesto NIE. Sponsored by the Sacramento Kings. Open to middle and high school students within 75 miles of Sleep Train Arena and teachers/students involved in The Modesto Bee’s NIE program.
Be Water Smart Decorating Contest (February)
Enrollment open to Sacramento NIE. Sponsored by the Regional Water Authority. Supplement geared toward K-6. Contest open to students in the Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties, and the City of West Sacramento.
What’s Growin’ On? Educational Supplement (March & September)
A 16-page supplement sponsored by California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, inserted into the print edition of The Sacramento Bee, The Modesto Bee and the Merced Sun-Star, is also included in the e-Edition each year. As well, it is also published in the San Luis Obispo Tribune and The Fresno Bee in September).
