Announcing the 2017 Water Spots Video Contest!
The Sacramento Bee’s News in Education (NIE) program and Regional Water Authority are pleased to announce the 2017 Water Spots Video Contest. The contest challenges teens to create compelling and original 30-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos on a select water efficiency topic. The contest is open to all middle and high school students in Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado counties and the City of West Sacramento.
Winners will be announced at a Sacramento River Cats game in April 2017. Winning spots will be displayed on the Raley Field Jumbotron. The winning students and teachers will also receive cash prizes.
PSA videos must focus on the selected 2017 water efficiency theme: WATER MYTHS BUSTED! Most household water use occurs outdoors. Judging will be based on creativity, entertainment value, accuracy, originality and incorporation of the water efficiency topic. Entries are due by Friday, March 3, 2017.
There is no charge to participate in the Water Spots Video Contest or the NIE program, thanks to the generous support of the Regional Water Authority. Be sure to share this email with other teachers you think may be interested.
